”El Maestro Mexicano” was a magazine mainly for the dissemination of practical-pedagogical topics focused on teachers. It began in 1944 and was created at the initiative of the then Secretary of Education Jaime Torres Bodet. A characteristic of the copies of this third epoch were their colorful covers created by Francisco “Pancho” Mora (Uruapán, Mexico 1922-2002), a graphic artist, printmaker and member of the Taller de Grafica Popular (TGP). He began to illustrate the covers with historical-revolutionary scenes with issue 14 of 1955. Mora studied at the art school, La Esmeralda, where he was a pupil of Diego Rivera and joined the TGP in the same year and remained a member of the collective until 1965. See: UPN092MDEZAAN2020.pdf.
